Meet Douglas Costa:
The Vision Behind DC Flash

Born in Sapucaia do Sul, Brazil, Douglas Costa de Souza developed his skills in futsal before transitioning to soccer. The fast-paced, technical nature of futsal helped shape his trademark dribbling and agility. In 2001, he joined Grêmio’s youth academy, where his soccer career took off. He made his professional debut in 2008, and his standout performances earned him a call-up to the Brazil national team in 2014.
Between 2014 and 2018, Douglas played 31 matches for Brazil, scoring three goals. He represented his country in the 2015 Copa América, where he scored his first international goal, and in the 2018 FIFA World Cup, proving himself on the world stage.
His European career began in 2010 with Shakhtar Donetsk, where he won five Ukrainian Premier League titles. He later moved to Bayern Munich, adding three Bundesliga titles and a FIFA Club World Cup to his achievements. In 2017, he signed with Juventus, securing three Serie A titles. In 2022, he joined LA Galaxy, strengthening his connection with the Los Angeles soccer community.
Douglas Costa’s illustrious career and strong futsal foundation are at the heart of DC Flash Academy. Inspired by his journey, we are committed to developing young athletes through a methodology that enhances motor and cognitive skills while instilling values like teamwork and discipline.
